Lapse

Lapse is an NYU thesis film directed by Maya Goldberg. This short was a selection in the 2017 Cannes Film Festival's Short Film Corner. The film is about a recent high school graduate named Paul Campbell, who seeks escape from his friends, family, and community after his best friend’s drug-fueled suicide. Upon returning to his hometown for the first time in months, he is ostracized and finds that the community at large blames him for his friend’s death.
